February's presentation at EARN:

Practical Wisdom from Today's Business Gurus

Several of today's popular business authors have written books providing advice and wisdom which may also be applied to conducting an effective job search. Come listen and gain valuable insight culled from the recent works of Tom Peters, Daniel H. Pink, and Seth Godin, and discover how you can apply this insight to enhance your current search.

Our speaker, KJ Muller, is an EARN alumnus and a current member of the EARN leadership team. He is passionate about giving this inspiring talk based upon his recent reading list.

In order to assist us with advance meeting preparation, please be sure to RSVP to this invitation.

EARN has been ministering to the people of St. Patrick’s Parish, and the surrounding communities of the lower Hudson Valley (and beyond) for over a quarter century. Please help spread the word to those who need our ministry’s help in these challenging times.

Organized by

is one of Westchester County's perennial faith-based groups specifically designed to assist the unemployed, underemployed and others in a state of career transition. EARN been holding monthly meetings since 1989.

The program was established by a small group of parishioners with human resources backgrounds with the intent of educating attendees about the job search process and by providing them opportunities to develop their networking skills. Essentially, EARN's coordinators help individuals to learn what it takes to uncover job leads and to increase their number of potential contacts. Not an employment agency, EARN provides valuable resources to connect attendees to work, but does not provide job placement.

The monthly meeting has four phases. Initially, there is News You Can Use -- an update on events. This is usually followed by a knowledgeable guest speaker who delves into various aspects of the job search, such as resume preparation, networking, negotiating and interviewing. Third, a coordinator facilitates a formal networking process whereby each participant tells of his/her background, aspirations and job search successes/setbacks experienced over the last month. Finally, informal networking takes place. Attendees do a one-on-one or small group interactions, for example, depending upon what transpired in the earlier networking phase.

EARN also publishes a monthly newsletter entitled Employment Exchange which lists job openings and situations wanted.
